Northwest Backyard Resort
This clients’ home lacked the pull to enjoy their expansive lot. They wanted to appreciate the outdoors from their backyard, but there was no particular reason to use it in its previous state. To transform their land into their ideal backyard resort, the couple had a very specific wish list: a covered patio to cook and dine, a natural water feature, and to incorporate their existing deck staircase and lower patio into the design.
The neighborhood HOA is very active in the clients’ neighborhood, so our team had to submit multiple plans to the group to earn their blessing on the project. Nevertheless, construction was completed in under 2 months and the project was completed on budget for about $150,000.
Now, they have a beautiful backyard resort they have enjoyed for years and will for many more decades to come. The raised garden beds down the terraced slope off the barn and waterfall built into the existing retainer wall are exemplary of Alderwood’s talent for blending the old with the new. The large waterfall and artificial stream for this project is also one of our largest residential water features to date.
