Mountain Hillside Sanctuary
This home needed some updates: the small deck was cramped, the lawn was struggling to thrive, and while the property had a great view, there was nowhere to enjoy it outdoors. As with many of our clients, their priorities changed as they got older and the value of their home and backyard became more important.
The couple wanted to take better advantage of their view and entertaining possibilities through the backyard renovation by adding a bar and outdoor kitchen to a revitalized deck, a well-designed hot tub, more privacy, and a fire pit. In addition to this original wish list, we worked with the couple to integrate water features, outdoor lighting, new pavers for the patio, and redesigned walkways.
We’re happy to have completed several projects for these folks over the past several years. Jobs have ranged from commercial water features to cabin landscape design, and now their home. Our creativity, attention to detail, and craftsmanship has kept this working relationship strong over the years.
Once a design was decided upon by the couple, construction took 8 weeks to complete. The entire job was completed on time and on budget for $150-175,000. The challenge with this project was related to the power supply for the water feature pump. A buried line was damaged at some point, and it kept flipping the breaker for the waterfall. Unfortunately, our engineers determined that the only solution was to dig up the entire line and replace it with a new one.
Their new deck is perfect for small family dinners after a round of afternoon golf. A new hot tub offers a relaxing spa experience to massage sore muscles, and the custom fire pit offers the perfect viewpoint to sip wine by the fire and enjoy the scenery. Sounds of falling water in the water feature can be heard and seen from almost every vantage point across the backyard.
